Dan is the author of ‘The Oyster Book’, which is currently published in English and Russian, used by a handful of higher education institutions as required reading, and available anywhere books are sold.
He has served on numerous local, state, and federal organizations to help steer the aquaculture industry into the future, and has farmed the ocean for more than a decade off the coast of Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard, MA, utilizing the cutting edge ‘3D farm’ method of growing oysters in bottom cages with seaweeds and blue mussels in the surface waters above.
