With over fifteen years of unparalleled experience collaborating with federal and state agencies, industry stakeholders, and members of the scientific, academic, and NGO communities, I have addressed a wide range of marine aquaculture and food system issues. My expertise encompasses aquaculture management, marketing, regulation and policy making, complemented by a love for education and forward thinking solutions to our food system challenges as they relate to climate change and emerging technologies.
Before establishing Martino’s Seafood LLC and farming shellfish and seaweeds in the open ocean, I worked for more than a decade in the TV production sphere, learning to craft successful storytelling and marketing techniques. The combination of these two careers enable me to author entertaining and educational insights into our food system, aquaculture and the greater Blue Revolution movement.
‘The Oyster Book’ (2024. Agate) remains the most comprehensive collection of oyster knowledge published to date, with multiple editions in English, Russian and Japanese. ‘The Future of Food’ (2027, Agate) focuses on solution based systems to meet the challenges of climate change.
The constant stream that connects throughout my career has been my ability to help others. I have worked with some of the largest tech companies, educational institutions, and policy makers in the world on aquaculture developments, regulations, insights and company advancements. My experience, concise communication skills, eagerness to learn, and ability to comprehend large system challenges and formulate solutions creates value where others fall short.
